Betty Shabazz: The diary of muslin’s wife
(1) (24th September, 1957)
Humanity, hot, noise and crowed)...I think this is the weather that I can describe for today. I just came back from work and I fell very tired. Then I went to the Harlem Temple coz I heard in the newspaper people were talking about this man called Malcolm X. He is broadcasting about Islamic teaching and asking people to join his group. I was curious to find out about that so I went there and I stood at the back watching this man was preaching in front of people. I have never seen a person like him, so brave and powerful.
After preaching, he came to greet everyone and introduced himself. We had a conversation and I think we become friends (I guess so....), But I can’t depend a lot on people like him because I’m sure he already has many, you know “women”.
(2) (1st October, 1957)
Yesterday Malcolm called me to go out with him. I wore a pink long dress matching with red high heels... and u know, dressing my best to look gorgeous for him. He came in black suit and he looked so....handsome :):) :). We went to a restaurant...we shared about his stories and just had fun. Just as we were enjoying our dessert, a white lady came and asked Malcolm if she can do an interview with him about Islam for her assessment. Malcolm bowed his head and he was like such a hot rock and I could see the anger in his eyes, then the lady left frightened. Anyways, time keep passin’, he always calls me every night (sooo.... romantic!!! I’m in loveJ.....(I think).
(3) (28th December, 1959)
We are blessed with 2 children, (‘in fact, we want to add more if we are still able”). Honestly, it’s not easy to be a fighter’s wife. Problems keep coming like water is flowing and it never stops. Huh, It freaks me out,,I always remind my husband to be careful with what he’s doing. He has been telling me that he wants to find the truth of about Islam, he asked my permission to go to Mecca.”Damn it” when all this will be end? My family and I want to live as peaceful as other families; Oh Allah please answers my question!!!
Analysis of Betty Shabazz
This is a journal entry written by Betty Shabazz, who devotes her heart as the wife of a warrior. She wrote about the events that happend to her since she met Malcolm. The reason I chose Betty to investigate is because I think she always supported her husband no matter what.
This diary is for adults like 15 years and over. The language is in English and there are some slang languages in it, such as: “Huh”, “Damn it”,etc. This is a kind of personal diary so she can release her feelings in forms that she wants because no one will read it except her.The tone of love at first but later on the tone is anxious because her life completely changed when she married Malcolm. She is also worried that the conflict will destroy her family, this is evident in word choices like: “hope”, “angry”, “upset”, etc.
THis is just a fiction story guys,,,,hahahhaha
