My house is my palace. These are the words that come to mind to I described for the boarding house where I spent my last three and a half years. There are around 700 girls in the boarding house from different remote places around Australia such as Western Australia, Alice Springs, katherine, Tiwi Island, Torres strait Island etc. There are also some girls from other countries, such as Indonesia, Philippines, Africa and Brazil. We all live far from our families and therefore we often fill our loneliness by sharing and learning about each other’s different cultures, traditions and languages. From the boarding house, I learnt the true meaning of friendship and sisterhood with girls from different backgrounds. We are one big family and we will remember it someday. One thing that I will miss from the boarding house are activities, such as camping in Batchelor and Lake Resort, participating in festivals in Daly River, Jabiru and the discos every weekend night. However, one thing that I will not miss from boarding house is the lack of freedom because there are too many rules. Overall, I  would like to thank all the houseparents who have been caring, loving and have given wise advice to us about how to be young ladies.
